Is it possible to change the root username, as a security measure?

No, but you can forbid login by setting an empty password. Be sure not to lock yourself out of the panel though.

How can I login then?
Create a separate user and give him permission to access Configure section and to modify configuration, and continue from there.
Okay, I see. When new features/plugins are added, will that user get permissions for these automatically?
No, but you'll be able to give permissions to yourself as long as you have access to the Configure plugin.
That's interesting, indeed.
I don't find how to set an emtpy password for root. When I leave the root password empty, Ajenti doesn't save it. Is it a bug or it's somewhere else ?
You're right, this is a bug (actually empty password works when setting it in the config file, that's what I was trying). I'm fixing it now.
The fix will be out in the nearest build, but for now you can set a long random password in the UI.
I just tried that and the result is a bit scary as root is able to login without a password if I set "password": "". Lol. I tried to let it empty without quotes or false but it returns an error. I prefer to let it with a password for the moment. :)
